Jeera rice is cumin and garam masala flavored rice in North India. It is simple and easy dish mostly ordered in the restaurants . It goes with all dishes includes veg and non veg curries like white chana black chana , kadhi ,dal fry ,chicken etc .

Soaking time or preparation time 15 minutes

Cooking time 10 minutes

INGREDIENTS 

1. Long grain basmati rice - 1.5 cup
2. water- 3 cups
3. Jeera- 2 tsp
4. Black cardamom opened -1-2pcs
5. clove or laung - 4 pcs
6. Salt to taste
7. Garam masala - 1 tsp
8. Oil -2 tbsp


Method how to make jeera rice with picture

1.Wash and soak long grain basmati rice for 15 minutes . then drain it properly with help of big sieve .






















2. Heat two spoon of oil in a vassel and put cumin , big cardamom and cloves.Let the cook properly and wait till it starts crackling.












3. Add sieved rice into cumin oil and saute for 2 minutes continuously .












4. Put water into the rice, add salt and garam masala at this stage











5.Cover it with the lid and cook for 10 minutes . After 10 minutes when whole water dry then check one rice grain with the finger and thumb in between .If there is little water left and rice is well cooked then remove lid from vessel and cook for another 2 minutes .












6. Put coriander and serve jeera rice with dal , kadhi pakora, aloo bhaji and chicken
