This is a dal which you can make easy and can be eaten in breakfast,lunch as well as in
dinner.

Ingredients
1/2 cup chana dal or bengal gram1/2 cup green moong dal or green gram
1 tsp cumin seeds or jeera
2 cloves or laung
2 whole dried red chillies
1/2 tsp asafoetida (hing)
1/2 cup finely chopped onions
2 tsp finely chopped green chillies
2 tbsp finely chopped garlic
1 tsp chopped ginger
1/2 cup chopped tomatoes
1 tsp chilli powder
1/4 tsp turmeric powder
1 tbsp lemon juice
2 tbsp oil
salt to taste
2 tbsp finely chopped coriander
Recipe
1.Wash both dals put salt and 2 ½ cups of water in a pressure cooker and cook for 2-3 whistles.2.Heat oil in a pan, add the cloves, cumin seeds ,red chillies and asafoetida and fry till aroma comes.
3.Add the onions, green chillies, garlic and ginger and fry till golden brown.
4.Add the tomatoes, chilli powder and turmeric powder till u see oil coming from masala.
5.Add dals to cooked masala and 1 cup of water if u seems dal is thick, then again cook for 2-3 minutes.
6.Garnish with the chopped coriander and serve with rice or chapatis.
