Prep Your Feet For Evryday

STEP 1:SLOUGH
SKIN
Once a week, remove calluses from damp feet with a pumice stone (blades are too likely to cause cuts and nicks). As prevention, apply a lacticor glycolic-acid exfoliation lotion or pad nightly. “These acids penetrate through the dead layers, helping dissolve dry skin.

STEP 2:FAKE A PEDI
When you’re pressed for time, try this shortcut pedicure. Dip a cotton swab in nail
polish remover and swipe it across and under toenails to remove any visible dirt. Then massage your entire foot with a capful of olive oil - this instantly softens dry skin and gives nails a pretty, natural shine. Towel off any excess oil.

STEP 3:TACKLE
TOENAILS
Got ridges? Buff nails every six weeks to smooth them out. Yellowing? Apply a base coat before polish to keep pigment from staining nails. Or, go polish- free for a few days each month “to let nails dry out completely. Polish retains moisture, which can trigger a reaction between nails and polish chemicals, causing staining,”

STEP 4:BEAT ODOUR
Prevent sweating (and stinky feet) by swiping soles with an antiperspirant in the morning. Or, wipe away odour-causing bacteria midday with a facial towel. Avoid deodorising powders,.

STEP 5: POLISH IT OFF
For a pop of colour on your tootsies, “you can’t go wrong with a true red”. Feeling modest? Skip the shimmery finishes and pick an opaque beige - it makes even the most gnarly toenails look pretty.
