 Aloo Ghobhi Masala
A very favourite & popular Vegetarian dish of India.

Cuisine: Punjabi Dish 
Category: Main course 

  • Cauliflower cut into pcs  - 250 grams
  • Potatoes - 3 medium sized
  • Onion - 2medium finely chopped
  • Tomato - 1 cup finely chopped
  • Ginger/garlic paste - 1 tsp
  • Turmeric powder - a pinch and Chillie powder -1 tsp
  • Coriander powder -2 tsp
  • Garam masala -3/4 tsp
  • Oil - 1 1/2 tbsp
  • cumin seeds -3/4 tsp
  • Bay leaf -1


Method

  1. Cut potatoes  into cubes. Heat a little oil in a pan and medium fry potatoes till golden brown, add a pinch of turmeric powder and salt to the potatoes.
  2. Cut cauliflower and blanch it in water. Keep it aside.
  3. Heat  oil in a pan, add cumin seeds and bay leaf. When cumin seeds gives aroma, add finely chopped onions.Fry well till  brown.
  4. Add ginger-garlic paste and saute for a few more minutes.
  5. Add chopped tomatoes.
  6. Then add spices i.e salt as taste ,turmeric powder,chill powder, coriander powder and garam masala powder.
  7. Saute till tomatoes turns soft and leaves oil.
  8. Then add the blanched cauliflowers, shallow fried potatoes and cook it dry till patatoes and and cauliflowers become soft.
  9. Garnish with coriander leaves.
