Cabbage with Peas and Potato


This Punjabi, healthy and delicious dish of band ghobi matar and aloo perfectly goes with chapaties and paranthas which occasionally cook in winters  .


Cuisine : North Indian 
Course: Main as well as side dish


Preparation time : 15 minutes 
Cooking time :15 minutes 


Main INGREDIENTS

 

1. Big bowl of shredded cabbage
2. small bowl of peas
3. Potatoes medium chopped  -2
4.Onion-1
5 Ginger garlic paste - 2tsp
6.Cumin seeds -1/2 tsp
7. Salt to taste
8. Red chilli powder - 1/2 Tsp
9. Coriander powder -1/2 Tsp
10. Turmeric powder -1 Tsp
11. Tomato puree- 4 Tbsp
12. Oil - 2 Tsp
13. Curry masala -1 Tsp



METHOD WITH PICTURES 

1.Put oil in a karadhi let it warm thn add cumin seeds , onion and ginger galic paste let it golden brown .




 2. Now put tomato puree in the onion and ginger garlic tarka then add red chili , salt ,turmeric,curry masala  and coriander powder at this stage so that raw taste of haldi can go away with cooking


.



 3.Now add cabbage , peas and potatoes and cook it for about 10 -15 minutes on medium or low heat. Do not cook this dish on high flame.Cover it for 10 minutes then check peas are well cooked or not . If there is any water content then remove lid for five minutes and cook it again




4. Band ghobhi , matter ,aloo is ready to serve . garnish it with coriander leaves


HEALTH BENEFITS OF THIS VEGETABLE

Cabbage is a good source of dietary fiber  and folate on the other hand peas are rich in vitamin K and dietary fiber .
