CAPSICUM ZUNKA Recipe by Balvinder Kaur

CAPSICUM ZUNKA

Capsicum Zunka or shimla mirch basni is Maharashtrian dish prepared with dry roasted basen. This is very tasty as well as rich in flavours of dry spices .perfectly goes with chapaties and puries

INGREDIENTS


1. Capsicum-3                        
2. Basan/chickpea flour/gram flour-3 -4tsp
3. Garlic,ginger and green chili paste -1 tsp                      
4. Onions medium finely chopped -3
5. Cumin seeds -1/2 tsp
6. Turmeric powder  -1/2 tsp
7. Coriander powder -2 tsp
8. Red chili powder -1/2 tsp
9. Garam masala 1/2 tsp
10.Dry mango powder -1/4 tsp
15. Kasuri methi - 1/2 tbsp
13.Oil -  4 tbsp
14.Salt acc to taste
15.Dry whole chilies

METHOD OF PREPARE SHIMLA MIRCH BASNI


1.Cut capsicum in to small pcs.














2.  In heavy bottom pan add basan and roast it on low flame till nice aroma comes.Transfer it to another vessel  and keep aside





















3. In a same pan put oil when its warm add dry chilies ,chopped onions ans ginger ,garlic and chilli paste to it .  Saute till onion turns golden brown in color. put all dry spices includes  turmeric powder, red chili powder, coriander powder, garam masala, amchoor powder (dry mango powder) and mix well.












6.Next  diced capsicum pieces and salt.













7.Do not cover it because water vapors make it sticky












7.  Once capsicum is well cooked , add basan do not put whole basen at a one time ,one tablespoon at a time.  Mix well basan with capsicum











8.Your shimla mirch basani is ready to serve











9.Serve hot with chapaties or puries .
