WHO SAYS MOM-TO-BE CAN’T PARTY?
OF COURSE SHE CAN…IN A HEALTHY WAY! A FEW NUTRITIOUS DRINKS FOR PREGNENT LADY.
Just because you are a mom-to-be doesn’t mean you can’t join in the party fun. Though drinking alcohol is off-limits for a while, you can still sip something festive and refreshing. Even though you need to party
smart while you’re expecting, you can still mingle, nibble and raise your glass to the holidays. To help, we’ve gathered some glamorous and tasty recipes. Some even include good-for you pregnancy nutrients such as calcium, fibre and folate. At some point most expectant mothers find themselves at a party, dinner, pub or in another social scene where they’re the only ones not drinking. “Being stone-cold sober when everyone else isn’t is annoying,” one mum-to-be says. “But perhaps even more annoying is that I seem to be stuck with mineral water or glasses of fruit juice for the foreseeable.” Maybe - but we’ve put together some favourite “pregnancy drinks” that aren’t so boring.
Take a little imagination, add the atmosphere of a bar or restaurant setting and mix with the fancy glass your drink comes in -- and you might be able to convince yourself that you’re drinking something more exotic than the usual gallons of bottled water and orange juice. In addition, all these drinks come with a few side benefits:
Both milk and juice help you get some of the nutrients you and your baby need, you save money, because non-alcoholic drinks cost less
and there are no arguments aboutwho’s going to drive home!
